was built for the high-tier public safety market. In July of 1997, Transcrypt added 75
years of experience in the radio industry by purchasing the E.F. Johnson Company. With the
acquisition of E.F. Johnson, Transcrypt
gained the ability to design and manufacture
mobile and portable radios, and infrastructure equipment, for VHF, UHF, 800 and 900 MHz
frequency bands, with conventional and trunked operation.
